We are committed to greater labor participation of women in heavy machinery

(Press MAKRO Group) – MAKRO Group has been working on training a group of young women in the handling of heavy machinery.

They have demonstrated their talent to operate in large projects that lead to the development of the country.

The new heavy machinery operators, in addition to the fact that this experience will improve their lives, also open new opportunities in the sector where only 5% are women, and in particular, for the construction sector with only 3% participation, and focused on unskilled labor activities.

According to Julio Vallejo, regional manager of the MAKRO Group Colombia, one of the objectives is to train women to have the same job opportunities as men in the Colombian post-conflict context, in which the construction of infrastructure in historically isolated areas is one of the priorities.

The training program offered by the MAKRO Group Colombia is a reality. With the commitment to continue improving the lives of many women, offering them real and attractive opportunities for improvement in their communities and strengthening their leadership skills and example to future generations.

(Grupo Makro Press).- Grupo Makro strengthens its commercial and educational area with the implementation of a new cooperation agreement with the company Comfenalco Antioquia.

In order to strengthen academic services, Grupo Makro together with the Colombian company Comfenalco – Antioquia, signed a cooperation agreement, which will have as its main objective the training in the operation of heavy machinery, marketing, export and import of heavy machinery for mining, housing and other fields related to the agricultural sector.

Comfenalco will guarantee innovative educational services to affiliated companies, workers and the community in general.

This alliance strengthens education focused on the handling of heavy machinery with quality in Colombia, with the realization of academic, teaching and research activities, as well as service extensions.

Makro Group Panama, in alliance with the Instituto Superior de Ingeniería (ISI), join forces to inaugurate the International Mining Training Center, located in Penonomé, capital of the Coclé province.

In order to respond to the current needs of the mining industry in Panama, Grupo Makro joins the Instituto Superior de Ingeniería, for the creation of a Center for training and education, based on competencies, in trades of high demand for mining.

This training will have training programs, with the high educational standards with which ISI is accustomed to train their students.

New operators for the development of Panama

Grupo Makro Panama successfully culminated the heavy machinery operation course specialized in Hydraulic Excavator, an indispensable piece in the development of any construction project from which 25 new operators graduated.

For Instructor Pedro Osorio, the teaching given by the institution has been fundamental for the recovery of the roads in Panama City that have been affected by the heavy rains, where the students, through the practical classes, contribute to the recovery of these spaces.

Ezequiel Cortes, one of the students who is now part of the group of Hydraulic Excavator operators, thanks the Makro Group for the knowledge acquired, which he says he feels satisfied with and congratulates the school for the support it gives to all those who dream of becoming heavy machinery operators.
